YOUR VISIT TO İZMİR
Where to stay in İzmir during dental treatment
Choose accommodation according to how often you will need to attend the practice and whether you will need rest after treatment. Check the actual route from the property before booking; a neighbourhood name alone does not establish journey time.
Dt. Ezgi Aydın's practice is in Balçova. If you expect several appointments, surgery or early reviews, staying on the western side of the city can reduce unnecessary travel.
Balçova: practical for appointment-heavy trips
Balçova is the most straightforward base when the main purpose of the visit is treatment. It keeps you close to the practice and avoids crossing central İzmir for every appointment.
This can be particularly useful when:
- you have several treatment days;
- you may need a next-day review;
- you are having implant or extraction surgery;
- you want to return to your room soon after an appointment;
- you prefer a quieter base to a nightlife district.
Balçova also has shopping, restaurants and nearby green areas, so staying close to treatment does not mean being isolated from the city.
İnciraltı and Üçkuyular: west-side access with a waterfront feel
The İnciraltı and Üçkuyular side of the city can work well for patients who want to remain near Balçova while also having easier access to the waterfront and transport links towards central İzmir.
This can be a useful middle ground when treatment is the priority but you still want to spend some free time outside the immediate neighbourhood.

Konak: central and historic
Konak puts you closer to Kemeraltı, the Clock Tower, the old commercial centre and several central transport connections.
It may suit a shorter or less appointment-heavy trip. For repeated dental visits in Balçova, factor in cross-city travel rather than choosing a hotel purely because the address looks central on a tourism map.
Alsancak: restaurants, waterfront and city life
Alsancak is one of the city's liveliest central areas, with the Kordon waterfront, cafés, restaurants and pedestrian streets nearby.
It can be appealing if you want more city life around your free time. It is less compelling if you have early appointments, need rest after surgery or prefer to minimise taxi journeys.
What matters more than the star rating
For a treatment trip, practical details can matter more than luxury branding. Before you book, check:
- reliable air conditioning or heating for the season;
- lift access if stairs may be uncomfortable;
- a quiet room;
- easy taxi pickup;
- breakfast or simple food options nearby;
- a refrigerator if you need to store ordinary food or drinks;
- flexible cancellation terms;
- enough space to rest if you have surgery;
- proximity to a pharmacy;
- whether the reception can help with taxis if needed.
If you are travelling with a companion, a slightly larger room or apartment-style stay may be more practical than a small city hotel.
Should you book a partner hotel?
Only treat a hotel as a partner or package hotel if this has been clearly confirmed.
Accommodation is described as included, discounted or formally arranged only when there is a real and current arrangement behind that statement.
You are free to choose your own accommodation.
How long should you book for?
Do not decide the length of the stay from a generic advertisement.
The number of days depends on the treatment and whether the plan changes after examination. Laboratory-made restorations may need preparation, try-in and adjustment time. Implant and bone procedures can involve separate stages. A full-arch case may include a temporary phase and later definitive work.
Where possible, understand the clinical stages before committing to a non-refundable stay.
Keep the last day flexible
A common travel mistake is placing the last dental appointment immediately before airport departure.
A bite adjustment, final check or unexpected review can need more time. Leaving some margin at the end of the trip is usually more practical than treating the flight as an immovable clinical deadline.
