YOUR VISIT TO İZMİR

Plan your dental visit to İzmir

A well-planned dental trip has two separate parts: the clinical journey and the time around it. They should support each other, but they should not be confused.

Dt. Ezgi Aydın's practice is in Korutürk, Balçova, İzmir. İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) serves the city.

Start with the treatment sequence

Before booking non-refundable flights or accommodation, understand what stage of treatment the trip is intended to cover.

A consultation, ceramic restoration, implant procedure and full-arch treatment do not share one universal timetable. Laboratory work, healing, imaging and review appointments can all change the number of days or visits required.

Getting here and transfers

The airport has taxi services and a rail connection, and İzmir has a wider public-transport network across the city.

If a private transfer is part of your confirmed arrangements, you should receive the details in writing. Otherwise, use the transport option that suits your arrival time, luggage and accommodation. Do not assume that a transfer is automatically included in dental treatment.

Choosing where to stay

For an appointment-heavy trip, staying closer to Balçova can reduce unnecessary cross-city travel. Konak and Alsancak place you closer to central sightseeing and nightlife. İnciraltı and Üçkuyular can offer a west-side compromise between treatment access and the waterfront.

There is no universal "best hotel" for dental treatment. The sensible choice depends on how often you need to attend the practice, whether you have surgery and how much city time you want around the appointments.

Discovering the city

İzmir works well for flexible travel because many of its best-known places can be experienced in shorter blocks of time.

You might spend a light afternoon around Kordon, explore Kemeraltı and Konak, visit the Historic Elevator or stay close to Balçova. With a genuinely free day, Urla, Çeşme, Alaçatı or Ephesus may fit the trip.

Your treatment instructions come first. Surgery, swelling, sensitivity, temporary restorations or a next-day review can all change what makes sense.

What to bring

Depending on your case, useful items may include:

  • a list of current medications;
  • relevant medical information;
  • recent dental X-rays or CBCT files if you already have them;
  • implant documentation from previous treatment;
  • allergy information;
  • details of your dentist at home if coordination may be useful.

You do not need to collect every possible record before the first message. Ask what is actually useful for your case.

Leave room at the end of the trip

A common mistake is scheduling the final dental appointment immediately before airport departure.

A shade, bite or laboratory adjustment may require more time. Extensive surgery can also change travel advice. Leave a practical margin rather than treating the flight as a clinical deadline.

After you return home

Before leaving, make sure you understand what was completed, what still needs review and what your dentist at home should know.
